I reckon he will be fitter, have faster reaction times and be more alert as a result.
Of course it will depend on what type of vegetarian foods he eats. Organic is the best, no GM modified vegetables and no herbicides or pesticides. otherwise there will be no benefit at all.
Would need to eat a lot of green vegetables, especially spinach, to make up for the lack of iron by not eating meat.
I will be interested to see if his game improves!

As I am a baseball lover, I try to watch games whenever I have time. But, for me, and without doubt for thousands of other fans all over the world, I love the Milwaukee Brewers, and I do my best to attend their games though we notice that (Brewers tickets) got a little pricy and hard to be found especially when we talk about some hot games. The tickets are a little pricy, but this should not prevent us from fallowing our favourite team and support it, and this is what means to be a good fan.

Congrats to Prince Fielder and his transition to a more positive lifestyle. If there are more successful vegan players on the field then I do believe that there are many more individuals that would follow the same vertical. Great blog... keep up the good work.

Hi---Lisa:
Athletes need special care and attention when it comes to their nutrition and diet, so when one decides to go veggie and does it successfully, it is always motivational and proves to all, that a vegetarian diet is NOT nutrient deficient.
Hey, thanxs for your visit. Do come again.
Missy.

I hope more and more athletes follow suit - after the stories about Tony Gonzalez going veg and his ability to keep up his performance, I think it sheds a positive light on this lifestyle.
I think if an actor is/becomes veg, it's similar to following Kabbalah or Scientology - it's considered quirky, and something that only those 'weird movie stars' do. "Oh, how cute, Natalie Portman is a vegan...Pamela Anderson is one of those crazy PETA people..." There are a ton of celebrity veg*ns in Hollywood, but nobody seems to care much.
But, if an athlete goes veg, it's serious business - their bodies are on the line, and I think people see it in a more serious light.

Missy ,
Thanks for the invite. After almost 40 years of writing eleven books to help us all eat better -you don't know what you are getiing into. The "About" on our website tells the story. But what I'd like to introduce to your readers is a little known food/ingredient commonly called yogurt cheese.
Yogurt cheese (or YoChee) is a wonderful versatile ingredient you can make at home by simply draining your yogurt. It has substantial nutritional benefits ( a creamy food which is low or no fat plus high protein and calcium). You might want to take a look at our book,” Eat Well the YoChee Way” a guide and cookbook to this important food. It really expands the use of yogurt cheese to desserts, main courses and much more. Also nutritional content. Also, the website YoChee.com contains a free yogurt cheese how- to slide show, nutrition information and free recipes

I couldn't do it if I didn't know that "American Wholefoods Cuisine" has been making people happy and healthy for more than three decades. Just look at the reader's comments on HealthyHighways.com I guess this counts as Plug#2
