It can dramatically improve quality of life for large dogs with hip dysplasia and/or arthritis also. My dauchsand Max is now able to walk around the block and enjoy the heavenly smells left behind by his new friends-to-be. He is not depressed anymore. He's perky again and it's such a joy to have my Maxie back. :-) This type of technology is especially important for dogs susceptible to back problems, like dauchsands. It's amazing that they were able to make a wheelchair like this to help the dog and that it is fine with it. I have known people with pets missing a leg and they seemed to adapt ok, but help like this is phenomenal. I have great respect for people deciding to let their pets live wonderful long lives in wheel chairs rather than cutting their lives drastically short.
