Hi, Rachel:
I'm with you. And maybe we should shout out "i don't care - you insecure cavemen/women" to those who are abit on the uptight side. LoL. Yeah let's do that. (hehe)
And yes being different is and always will be a special place for ignoramuses to throw a party. Ah why sweat the small stuff. As long as those who are afraid of "the different" stay away from me, we are good.
Thanxs for finding me. Hope to see you again!

I just found your blog too, and I had to comment on your rant, because I see it happening all the time. I normally don't even mention that I am a vegetarian; usually it only comes up if I go to a restaurant with new people or something. I know quite a few veggies, and can say with certainty that the stereotype of the obnoxious, in-your-face vegetarian is entirely fictional. But often the people I mention it to get immediately defensive and feel the need to talk about how they will be ordering a big juicy steak or something.
I want to shout, "I DON'T CARE YOU INSECURE CAVEMAN!" but I feel that would be off-putting. LOL. But really, I think some people just feel threatened by anyone who is different, whether it be skin color, language, or food preference. To some, if you don't follow the herd (mind the pun), then you are some freak of nature to be ostrasized. It's kind of weird in that I feel the same way when religion comes up and I say I am an atheist. People hate for their values or opinions to be questioned...
Anyway, nice blog! I will be following from now on.

Hi, Rebecca:
Hey, first thanks for the link to my site on your blog. Appreciate it. Sorry about the reaction from your co-workers, it is kind of weird to me, why some people are not only put off by vegetarianism but completely offended by it. Why? Why are people offended at others who choose to live a more compassionate life? It's nuts. Like i said above, "i don't get it".
Anywho, i guess we will just have to deal with others who LOVE to react, instead of think. Weehoo!
P.S. Blogs are awesome mouthpieces for a devilishly good rant. Yes? Thanxs for reading mine and commenting.
P.S.S. Have a great day!

i am in complete agreement with your rant. i was so dissapointed with the reaction i got from coworkers when i brought up that today was meat out day. people know i'm a vegetarian, and generally don't say much about it. but at the mere mention of today being meat out day, so many people seemed to have something to say about how they have incisors for a reason. i hate lecturing, but i felt like going into the environmental and health consequences to them. the anger they spoke with really bothered me. i am all about openess and tolerance, and it really bothers me when other people can't seem to act in a respectful manner.
btw, i just found your blog last night. i really like what i saw and included it in my post on meat out day as a cool vegetarian blog. kudos.
