Vegetarian News: Say No To The Cho's (Pistachios)
Lots of interesting vegetarian news around the interwebs this week. Below are some of the biggest headlines. Enjoy!

Pam Anderson starts a vegan fashion line with designer Richie Rich. Pam is a big animal activist and a long time vegetarian, so i’m sure this is uber thrilling for her. Look for Pam Anderson’s vegan line under the name brand MUSE.
The Ceo of Whole Foods has decided to make a full blown commitment to veganism. Very interesting news – considering that Whole Foods is the most popular mainstream natural grocer. Kudos to CEO – John Mackey!
FDA pistachio recall. The govt has issued an all out APB on all products containing pistachios, as there is a potential Salmonella contamination outbreak. So say no to the cho’s. (atleast till further notice)
Over a million pounds have been recalled from Setton Farms, the nations 2nd largest pistachios processor based out of California. That is a whole lotta nuts. Better safe than sorry – just avoid for now.
That’s it for this vegetarian news round up. Till next time!

Do we know what it is about nuts and salmonella? I wonder if it is in the product itself or in the production. Thanks for the info.
Yeah, it’s crazy that they keep coming with with salmonella cases and nuts. I agree with Aftercancer that it probably is more of the production and not the nuts themselves.
Aftercancer & PLG: I agree it most likely is production. Too many nuts too many whitecoats and not enough vigilance. The farm which this scare is coming from produces like 270 million pounds of nuts annually. I can see how it might incite some “accidents”.
I have developed a deep respect for animals. I consider them fellow living creatures with certain rights that should not be violated any more than those of humans.
