Does Soy Milk Cause Man Boobs? Jeremy Piven Thinks So

Follow me on this one will ya. Actor and Entourage star Jeremy Piven is going around tinseltown (and other towns) making the claim that drinking soy milk gave him “man boobs”.

Yes! man boobs.

jeremy piven and his man boobs

What food will Jeremy Piven blame next for his ailments or body malfunctions? lol. I remember reading about a year ago that he had a bad case of the flu or something and that it was due to his consumption of mercury from shoving too much sushi down his throat.

I find this completely amusing. Not that he was sick, but that he seems to suffer from eating too much of specific foods and then blames the food – like its their fault. I like Jeremy and I LOVE him as Arty on Entourage, so this is not a “let’s all bash Piven type thing”. I find it comical and down right goofy.

Oh! and check this out.

Apparently a doctor, an actual MD is siding with Piven and also claiming that drinking soy milk will indeed give men a nice set of “man boobs”.

Why?

Because of the estrogen found in soy milk. Hmmnn. But wait don’t you have to be drinking like an insane amount of soy milk for any sort of estrogen ill effects.

And if it were as simple as drinking barrels full of soy milk, wouldn’t trannies or those who want to go gender-opposite drink it like there’s no tomorrow?

What Say You?

If you’re a man who drinks soy milk and NOW have your very own pair of man boobs (a/k/a moobs), please weigh-in and share your story.

Will ya?

I agree 100% with this article and this theory. It is well documented and proven. Soy mimics estrogen in men and can lead to all sorts of complications. Just check Pubmed for all their medical studies on the subject. Why this keeps getting downplayed in the media is beyond me as its a serious issue.

I’m no doctor, but it is just funny to me how Jeremy Piven has all sorts of problems with food. That’s all.

Thanks for your comment. Happy tofurkey day!

I’ve read that cow milk has large amounts of estrogen also, because the hormones they give the cows to increase milk making ability. Either way, he must have been drinking tons to get the man boobs, which can also be cause by weight gain -soy or no soy.

What a clown. I drink a Bonsoy latte every day, I’m 5’7″, 61kg, and lean.

Of course, I ride about 300km on my bike a week, and eat well, and run, and surf, and do weights…

And don’t sit down and mung on burgers and booze like some sort of pampered Hollywood clown.

Sounds like he needs to stop b!tching and HTFU.

I’m 61, have eaten soya products all my life, and have no sign of feminizing effects. Like Tim, I’m fairly fit for my age, but still… The most convincing and scientific study I could find is here: http://www.foodnavigator.com/Science-Nutrition/Review-finds-no-effect-of-soy-on-testosterone. Read and be reassured!

I don’t know about the man boobs… but I think too much of anything can be bad for you. Even too much of a healthy thing. Everything in moderation is a better approach. I have a friend who drank an insane amount of green tea. I don’t remember what the side effects were but when she reduced her consumption, she felt much better. Could it have been headaches? I don’t remember.

From personal experience, it can be easy to consume an “insane” amount of soy. I used to drink three glasses of soy milk (plain or with a smoothie) and a 3-inch by 3-inch block of tofu (or two) a day and I gained quite a bit of weight.

I was working out 5 days a week but still the weight piled on. I have since stayed away from soy and lost the weight.

I keep asking this store that took over a Wawa here in Pennsauken NJ, three miles from Philly (Mid Eastern) and very pretty girl, and good fellas, young at that had a chocolate tofu drink…thick, real good, once twice a week, not too long though, they ran out, never got it back, their answers, a nice usual retail answer, and xpected more or less; and thee interest disappeared. No problemo. Now this, about the breast, I don’t even need to think about it that way and have too… because of my physical understandings want to know if this, that, and thee other things all fall to the side or what. What to be done with those if they enlarge, are they fat, muscle, how do they respond. To much to question and not enough…either/or I’ll be around and keep plenty distance on the roads, with all speeds, my thing and CFTACCS gonna save more lives than have ever. up to on NJ roads 524 lost as of 11 29 09 don’t want to hit 537

My comment once again is on Distance with speed, I’m on blogger and don’t even know how to send us over there. I’m heading to blogging++ and going to be making snapper soup, pecan pies, and some of the finest Chinese dumplings here on thee east coast because my daughter in restaurant school and we have a plan. Now this tofu throws things off a hair and believe it or not just last week on whatever channel this guy’s on talking about the not so good in tofu/bean curd, never before heard about it and the same with margerine, enjoy butter, and him mentioning the worse about them like any foods that don’t fit and you’re just listening, I’ve always like we enjoy butter, and being a veg or not, it’s made of milk, tasted great, fries and egg, makes some dynamite gravy atttttttts all.

I said distance with speed again and forgot all about it and went right to my daughter, good stuff. the DRIVING, in 1986 I put something together that’s going to change the we do it, I QUALITY CONTROLLED, that’s how you can relate, and it’s taken this long, but it’s gonna. Thee thing is DISTANCE, we have to maintain, it creates flow, and keeps shit from happening, it’s killing us, WE have to use to keep alive instead. I think we agree. We’re not stupid, I had an assemblyman tell me we were once, didn’t get my vote again, were not even close to it no matter what we do. Maintain it and watch. It naturally relaxes and puts the driver in better control.

What will they come up with next I wonder?

This is why people get all confused natural health products. People that are highly visible to the public make some outlandish claim about anything without any knowledge of what they are saying and it becomes urban legend whether it is correct or not. How irresponsible! This fellow needs to do a little less living the “good life” and start working out.

Whilst it’s true that soya milk is high in estrogen the same can be said for lots of other foods. Apples, chickpeas, oats and plums are just a few. There is also barley which may explain why beer causes man boobs (nothing to do with drinking 6-pints-a-night!) There is a good list of estrogen rich foods here.

I forgot to mention that there are also foods which inhibit estrogen uptake. These foods include Berries, Broccoli, Buckwheat, Cabbage, Citrus Foods, Corn, Figs, Fruits (except apples, cherries, dates, pomegranates). So presumably, if you just can’t live without your soya milk fix then eating these foods will counter the effects.

I have been a diligent user of soy products for years. Guess what? No man boobs. Maybe the guys who claim they got their man boobs from soy products have confused their wive’s birth control pills with vitamins.
