Vegetarian Meals, 5 Places To Get Some
Are you thinking about eating less meat, or maybe going full on vegetarian? Apparently many are looking for information on vegetarian meals. So below I have a small but complete round up of five places to get some.
1. Local Grocer – Most grocery stores such as Jewel, Cub Foods, Krogers and Walmart have a dedicated vegetarian meals section. Look in the frozen aisle for meatless burgers from Boca and Morningstar, veggie hot dogs, pizza and more. Can’t find it? Ask a store associate.
2. Online Food Ordering – There are vegetarian take-out businesses, that will fully prepare a vegetarian meal for you and your family for monthly or weekly stipend. Some of the better known companies out there include VeggieBrothers.com and GreenPeople.org have put together a national list of online ordering companies.
3. Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants – What better way to get a QUICK and EASY meatless meal than having someone else prepare it for you. Visit HappyCow.net to find a vegetarian restaurant near you.
4. Friends Who Are Vegetarian – Have a vegetarian or vegan friend? Invite them over and ask them (or gently suggest) that you would love to TRY their eggplant lasagna, black bean burger, mushroom rice plate, etc. More than likely they will be GLAD to cook a veggie meal for you.
5. DIY/Make It Yourself – If you’re halfway decent in the kitchen, you most likely can prepare quite the vegetarian feast. Find a recipe that you like, get the ingredients together and cook to your hearts content. Bon appetite!

Great tips, thanks so much! I eat out with my friends [who aren't vegetarians] a lot and it]s really hard to find somewhere that serves good vegetarian meals…
Fast food places should definitely be added to the list. I was surprised to see today how many different things subway had to offer.
Great ideas – I live in Peru, and it’s easy to eat vegetarian here, fresh fruits and vegetables are sold on carts that pass right by the front door.
When I am forced to eat at chain restaurants like Chilis or TFI Fridays I always have them make me vegetarian fajitas. It’s a welcome change from the typical veggie burger.
We really need this kind of food rather than the unhealthy ones. Thanks for sharing it to us.
One of the great benefits of a vegetarian diet is that it is healthy. Much more so if you make it yourself!
Vegetables are very important to our body so we should really see to it that we eat plenty of vegetables a day. It is great that there are already lots of restaurants that we can order online for veggies and we don’t need to do effort so that we can eat veggies.
My favourite Italian recipes is lasagne vegetarian, it is easy to cook it myself and delicious.

Finding vegetarian meals, especially when eating out, can be a challenge! People simply don’t get you don’t want the meat special. But I do love Chinese and that chinese restautants are at least one place I can eat vegetarian with no problem..

October may be Vegetarian Awareness Month, but the top chefs in Las Vegas know how to cater to vegetarian guests year-round. Featuring thoughtful, modern vegetarian cuisine, world-renowned culinarians such as Michael Mina, Joël Robuchon, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Julian Serrano and Shawn McClain please the palates of tourists and locals using a wide variety of fresh produce, natural proteins and inventive flavors. These Las Vegas restaurants replace the old standbys with multi-course vegetarian and vegan tasting menus and gourmet fare that will have even carnivores salivating for more.

Being a vegetarian is environment-friendly, because meat requires more energy in transport and to take care of cattle/pigs.

Thanks for the list. My wife and I have began changing what we eat so we can be healthier but I still crave meat.
Can you suggest some good veggie recipes.
I have copied the ones here.
Thanks
One thing you might have forgotten to mention is restaurants that serve meat but also cater to vegetarian needs too! I went to a Mediterranean style restaurant yesterday (I actually blogged about it here: http://ahappyvegetarian.blogspot.com/2011/03/delicious-mediterranean-food-at-la-pita.html) and they had a pretty extensive menu that did include quite a few meat dishes but also included tons of vegetarian ones and they marked the vegetarian options with a little leaf on the menu – very helpful for a vegetarian like me
I ended up getting the “vegetarian combo” which was 6-7 different things on a platter, really delicious.
Great website and yummy recipes for a healthy choice. I am always on the look out for great vegetarian choices. Awesome, keep up the good stuff.

More and more daycare’s are including vegetarian alternatives for children. Starting them off early with at least a partially vegetarian diet will help them get over many of the childhood stigmas associated with the vegetarian lifestyle. Day Care Furniture
I get most of my good recipes from going to vegan restaurants first and then trying to make it myself.
Your food photo looks very tempting.
May I know the recipe?
Is that a vegan or vegetarian?
Tried to cook vegetarian meals for kids but somehow I am still struggling to be able to provide them with the right calories.
