I received a request a few months back from a reader who saw my vegetarian myspace layouts page and wanted to know if I could round up some vegetarian WordPress themes for him, as he said he was “too old for Myspace”.

And I said, “hey, you’re never too old for Myspace, well maybe. (hehe) But anyway, i’ll round some up for you just the same”.

So off I went to visit my trusty friend Google to see what I could find. Below are three crisp hot looking vegetarian/ vegan WordPress themes for bloggers who want to nicely dress up their blog.

As usual, let me know what you think?

Green Park 2 (from Cordobo)

vegetarian theme link

This green lightweight theme has a right sidebar and many cool extras like built-in Twitter integration and nested comments, plus it’s fully compatible with WordPress 2.8

Great theme for a veggie or eco friendly blog. And yes it’s free.

WordPress.org description:

Lightweight fast-rendering theme with 2-3 column layout and right sidebar, Widget-ready (4 slots), built-in support for plugins (e.g. twitter), support for threaded/nested comments, fully localized, easy to customize via settings-page. By Andreas Jacob.

RCG Forest (from Yet Another Blog)

veggie wordpress theme

WordPress.org description:

A simple green theme.

Editor’s note: This theme is simple, but really cute and has a great header. Try the demo so you can see it up close.

Bible Scholar (from E Grace Creative)

vegan wordpress theme

WordPress.org description:

A lean, clean, and green wordpress them utilizing only two background images: three columns, widgetized sidebars.

This theme was created by a pastor, not sure why i’m sharing that with you, but I thought it was pretty cool. Plus this theme is sharp, clean and has alot of neat features.

Great for a vegan blog.

That does it for round one of cool vegetarian WordPress themes. These three beautiful, well crafted, ad and avatar ready themes should all be compatible with the latest version of WordPress.

And each one is free under GPL license. (please don’t ask me what that is)

Hope you see one you like. If you do, please give me a shout-out below in the comment area. Ole!

P.S. If you know of any other cool veg themes, please leave a link below.

It is essential to sometimes focus on other bloggers who are doing their part to use their blogs as a vehicle for good in this vast vast blogosphere. As you know there are like 71 millions blogs as of last count on Technorati, and thousands are created daily. The blogging lifestyle consists of taking interest and participating in the blogs of others and forming community.
