"I Hate Meat Eaters" Vegetarian Canvas Totebag is from groovy vegetarian

I was browsing the vegan cosmetics site Lush, and they have a solid vegan soaps section. I really digg their thorough product descriptions, including how they delineate the ingredients into Black (which = safe synthetic) and Green (which = natural and /or organic). They also specify which of their products are 100% vegan, as opposed to just vegetarian, with a round green letter V.

Besides vegan soaps; they also have a slew of vegan shampoos, vegan gels, and other items that are animal (and animal-byproduct) free.

The soaps pictured above are the karma orange spice and the bohemian lemon drop. I am going to order the Bohemain Lemon Drop, and see how it is. It looks great, and with the ingredients listed, it should lather up well. Plus i love lemony scented soaps.

Those wacky girls from “The View” featured many sustainable companies who are all producing green concepts out of regular everyday household items. They highlighted the new line of organic cotton sheets from Target, recycled hemp hats from California Rising, vegan shoes from TeCasan, all natural food from Annie’s HomeGrown, reclaimed lumber furniture, VOC-free paint from Benjamin Moore, bamboo wood cabinets from Grasswood Cabinets, blood free diamonds, chlorine-freeand fragrance-free baby items, and last but not least the eco friendly green tea mattresses from Keetsa.

I pretty much have the “The View” on in the background every morning while i blog, and do my freelance writing. It was neat to see Keetsa featured on the show and given its just spotlight.

There are several solid choices, including:

a refurbisher - they will upgrade or fix used computers, and then donate them to a local school or nonprofit, visit techsoup or electronics recycling for a local refurbisher
a manufacturer – check out Computer Takeback for manufacturer programs
local office supply reailer – Staples will recycle your used PC for a $10 fee
local recycling plant – at earth911 anyone can find their local recycling station and find out details on what exactly is picked up and when
art muse – (my fave eco friendly solution) many creative folks will take “your trash” and turn it into a one-a-kind work of art, as evidenced in my many posts at eco blog keetsa showcasing a keyboard clock, circuit board keychains, mousepads, you name it, artists will take your old PC and its components and transform it into something new

With a little bit of research, creativity, and leg work, you can find an earth friendly solution for that no-longer used computer tower, monitor, laptop, keyboard, and other electronics.

As you may (or may not know) today is, Blog Action Day, and the topic is the environment, a topic i pretty much already blog about daily. This is an annual virtual event created by two big-time bloggers to raise awareness of the serious issues facing our planet, and to create a big conversation.
