Just found out about MotherboardGifts.net, an awesome gift shop where everything is made from recycled pc motherboards. Including these really cool coasters.

The recycled pc motherboard coasters are visually stunning and would make a great conversation piece on any table. I love the design as well, these look pretty well put together and well crafted.

I’m a wanna-be geek and as such love things like this. They have so much more than coasters though – they have adorable heart-shaped pendants, business card cases, gift certificates and lots more.

How about you? Like this type of eco techy goodness or does this not appeal to your sense of geeky decor.

If you have a vegetarian product, service, blog or website that you wish other vegetarians and vegans knew about, then why not consider advertising on Groovy Vegetarian?

image via Vegetarian Organic Life

Why Groovy Vegetarian?

The blog is read by more than 11,00o vegetarians from all over the world monthly, has 1,000 plus RSS subscribers and well over 500 email subscribers that get a blog summary every Sunday in their email inbox. Oh! and I have 1,000 plus followers on Twitter as well that I almost forgot about.

Advertising is available in the form of a blog post. You can write it yourself and I add it to the blog, or I can write it for you. Your choice. This is a fantastic way to get the word out about your vegetarian, vegan or eco friendly offering. As long as it’s relevant and family-friendly, I will approve it.

Again your offering MUST be relevant and family friendly. No exceptions!

What’s the cost for this prime opportunity?

Normally blog post reviews go for $45, but for the purposes of this special offer, i’m chopping it down to only 25.

**Special Offer For Readers, Followers and Subscribers

If you’re an email or RSS subscriber your cost is only $15. This includes a written review on the blog which will stay on the homepage for atleast 7 days, a broadcast on Sunday to my 500 plus email subscribers and a tweet to my 1,000 plus followers on Twitter.

It’s preferable that you supply an image to insert in your blog post review, but if not then I will source a royalty-free image from Flickr or Google.

And two links will also be included to your website or blog.

How To Schedule A Blog Post Review?

To schedule a blog post review, simply send me an email via my contact form and send me all relevant details, including:

Your full name

Name of your company or product

Benefit of your offering, as in why would my readers be interested in it

Image

URL

Anything else I need to know about you, your company or product

Payment is handled via Paypal and once payment clears, we can go ahead with the blog post review. Please allow up to 48 hours for your review to go live on the blog. Might be less time, depends on interest.

Don’t pass up this exclusive opportunity to get the word out about your fabulous vegetarian or vegan product on Groovy Vegetarian.

But i need your help, i want to know what you MOST want to win. So i created a poll asking, if you could take a minute to answer.

The giveaway is set for Tuesday, Cinco De Mayo. (Yes, that would be May 5th) And should run for about a week, with the winner or winners announced a few days after that.

It will be easy to enter and should be fun. So if you’re not yet a newsletter subscriber or Twitter follower, now is a great time to hop on board the GV train.

P.S. If you want to sponsor the giveaway, send Missy an email. I’m looking to giveaway soy candles, a book, a vegetarian themed shirt, veg ebook, or eco friendly soaps.

Release some steam, at those who scoff at cruelty and don’t give a damn as to what they eat. How? Get your hands on one of the NEW! “I Hate Meat Eaters” vegetarian canvas totebags, and make a righteous animal-friendly fashion statement.

Found a nifty NEW! canvas totebag from the brand Angry Little Girl. The bag reads I Hate Meat Eaters, and it sports a chick with some serious attitude. “Can stand the heat, get out of the kitchen” could very well be the motto of this small, but mighty chicky.

I found the volatile canvas totebag at none other than THE BEST vegan boutique there is, Alternative Outfitters in LA. The bag is made with 12 oz reversible canvas, has interior and exterior pockets, and 9″ shoulder straps. The I Hate Meat Easters Canvas Totebag is absolutely perfect for those trips to the grocer, pharmacy, or heck, even the local beach. Wear it loud and proud.

I’m getting one, and maybe giving it away here on my blog. Whatcha think?

Available @ Alternative Outfitters, for about $23.

I am a big fan of soap bars, all types but have a special affinity for vegetarian, vegan, and eco friendly soaps. I’m always on the lookout for cool bars and providers.

I was browsing the vegan cosmetics site Lush, and they have a solid vegan soaps section. I really digg their thorough product descriptions, including how they delineate the ingredients into Black (which = safe synthetic) and Green (which = natural and /or organic). They also specify which of their products are 100% vegan, as opposed to just vegetarian, with a round green letter V.

Besides vegan soaps; they also have a slew of vegan shampoos, vegan gels, and other items that are animal (and animal-byproduct) free.

The soaps pictured above are the karma orange spice and the bohemian lemon drop. I am going to order the Bohemain Lemon Drop, and see how it is. It looks great, and with the ingredients listed, it should lather up well. Plus i love lemony scented soaps.

Off to get me one (or two). Let me know, if you have bought this one already. Weigh in below.

GreenLoop based out of Portland, Oregon uses socially responsible suppliers and carries some of the most eco friendly brands, including Envirosax, Lara Miller, Anna Cohen, Melissa Shoes, and one of my personal faves, Resource Revival.

Patronize GreenLoop, and grab the Get Hip Get Green Bag till April 27th, on a total purchase order of $50 or more. Be sure to take a look at the recycled accessories, they are too cute.

How cool is it when you’re watching the tele, and on comes someone you know. I blog daily at green blog, Keetsa, and today they were featured on “The View“, as the show was all about eco friendly and green living.

Those wacky girls from “The View” featured many sustainable companies who are all producing green concepts out of regular everyday household items. They highlighted the new line of organic cotton sheets from Target, recycled hemp hats from California Rising, vegan shoes from TeCasan, all natural food from Annie’s HomeGrown, reclaimed lumber furniture, VOC-free paint from Benjamin Moore, bamboo wood cabinets from Grasswood Cabinets, blood free diamonds, chlorine-freeand fragrance-free baby items, and last but not least the eco friendly green tea mattresses from Keetsa.

I pretty much have the “The View” on in the background every morning while i blog, and do my freelance writing. It was neat to see Keetsa featured on the show and given its just spotlight.

Your Turn

Did you watch it, which products or companies stood out for you?

I just posted over at green blog, Keetsa on the hip eco friendly tee, Think Green from teen shop Delia’s.

Â

This t-shirt would make a big hit with that environment-minded teen in your life. It sports a sweet logo, is made of a cotton/poly mix, and the words “Think Green” written across the front center.

This tee is longer than most and is great for layering under a sweater, blazer, or hoodie. I think it is also Unisex, good for both a boy or girl. Head on over to Keetsa for details.

According to the EPA, “an estimated 130,000 computers were discarded everyday in 2005″. But where and how can one responsibly discard their old, used, or outdated PC equipment? Let’s take a look below at some of our options.

There are several solid choices, including:

a refurbisher - they will upgrade or fix used computers, and then donate them to a local school or nonprofit, visit techsoup or electronics recycling for a local refurbisher
a manufacturer – check out Computer Takeback for manufacturer programs
local office supply reailer – Staples will recycle your used PC for a $10 fee
local recycling plant – at earth911 anyone can find their local recycling station and find out details on what exactly is picked up and when
art muse – (my fave eco friendly solution) many creative folks will take “your trash” and turn it into a one-a-kind work of art, as evidenced in my many posts at eco blog keetsa showcasing a keyboard clock, circuit board keychains, mousepads, you name it, artists will take your old PC and its components and transform it into something new

With a little bit of research, creativity, and leg work, you can find an earth friendly solution for that no-longer used computer tower, monitor, laptop, keyboard, and other electronics.

As you may (or may not know) today is, Blog Action Day, and the topic is the environment, a topic i pretty much already blog about daily. This is an annual virtual event created by two big-time bloggers to raise awareness of the serious issues facing our planet, and to create a big conversation.

Thanxs for reading this post and feel free to comment and join in on the global conversation taking place today for Mother Earth.
